Crossing Centre Nelspruit was founded in 2003 by local Property Development Company, Laeveld Trust. Laeveld Trust was established in 1958 with the aim of investing local money for the benefit of residents. Current Laeveld Trust director, Nico van Zyl took over from his father and has seen the company grow from a co-investment community project to the large commercial property development company it is today.
When Crossing Centre opened its doors in 2003, the developers struggled to find enough tenants to fill the centre’s 25 shops. Ten years later, the success of the development and its mix of unique tenants resulted in the decision to expand and revamp the centre. New land and a new business partner were acquired and with the assistance of a very professional team, another 25 shops and an office block 3500 square metres was added to the existing centre.
Nelspruit is the main shopping hub of the Lowveld for local residents, surrounding towns and neighbouring countries including Mozambique and Swaziland. Crossing Centre is conveniently situated to satisfy the needs of those looking for a variety of goods. The centre is located on the corner of the very busy R40 and Samora Machell Drive.
